The Pilates Method and Functional Strength Training: Reformer/Tower

This is an ADVANCED level workshop that highlights the traditional Pilates principles and methodology, whilst incorporating the benefits of functional strength training techniques. The workshop is a whole body integrated program designed to gain strength, correct and improve musculature imbalances, posture and alignment, increase flexibility and overall range of motion.

Objectives:

  • We will work according to the the original Pilates principles.
  • Assess body alignment and postural deviations- standing.
  • Identify neutral pelvis and varying positions - supine.
  • Recognize common limitations and protocols.
  • Work the whole body in a seamless progression.
  • Learn modifications according to the needs and goals of the client.
  • Practice a program tailored for the seasoned practitioners incorporating functional exercises and the Pilates repertoire.
